Server rules

Below is a summary of rules you need to follow if you want to have an account on this server of Mastodon:

1. Be nice. Do unto others as you think they would want done to them.
2. Please mark sensitive content with a content warning.
3. Illegal content (do I really need to say this?) is, unsurprisingly, is not permitted.
4. Lack of a specific rule against a certain behavior does not indicate acceptance of that behavior. Don't be a asshole.
5. Hate speech and abusive or threatening behavior is of course not permitted, specifically that which directed at any gender, nationality, religion, race, age or sexual identity.
6. Violating one or more of these server rules may result in an immediate, permanent ban without notice or warning. So use common sense and be nice.
7. Spam is not permitted, this includes creating spam accounts that only serve to provide profile links or advertise products and services.
8. Reasonable advertising of your own products and services (and links to third parties) is permitted. Within reason. So don't abuse it.
9. Parody accounts are permitted, but you may not impersonate a person or brand without a clear indication the account is unofficial and/or a parody. Please don't assume others can tell the difference.
10. Profanity and obscenity are OK, but that which is gratuitous and that serves no practical benefit to a discussion is not permitted. Be nice to everyone else's ears and sensitivities.
